White Milkweed is a member of the Milkweed family
(Asclepiadaceae) That grows in open woods and thickets and blooms from May - July. The small white flowers have a purplish center and are crowded into a ball shaped cluster. The leaves are 3-6 inches long and dark green above but pale beneath and grow opposite on the stalk. The plant is 1-3 feet tall. The plant is found from Connecticut to Florida and west to Texas and north to Illinois.
