Sweet Cicely is a member of the Parsley Family (Apiaceae) and blooms in the spring from May to June.

This plant's leaves have a hairy texture to them, and they faintly resemble the leaves of a Maple tree in shape. The flowers are tiny, less than 1/16th of an inch across and grow in small clusters above the leaves. This plant was found in deep woods in May. The range is from southern Canada to Texas and east to Georgia.
