Trillium recurvatum
Prairie Trillium is a member of the Lily Family (Liliaceae). The stalkless flower of three upright, closed petals sits atop the swirl of three large mottled leaves. The plant is found is rich woods, usually in large patches.

The plant will grow to about 1 foot tall and blooms from April to June. It is found from Western New York south to Virginia and Georgia and west to Mississippis Arkansas and Missouri and north to Indiana.
