False Rue Anemone is a member of the Buttercup Family (Ranunculaceae), that blooms in April and May in rich woods and thickets. The white Anemone-like flowers bloom in small clusters at the ends of the stems. The flowers are about 1/2 inch across.

It is found from Southern Ontario to North Carolina west to Texas and north to Minnesota.
