MeetingHouse Columbine
(Aquilegia canadensis)
Columbines are members of the Buttercup Family (Ranunculaceae), but they tend to be the showy ones of the crowd. These are found growing in profusion along the roadways and in the lighter forests of North East North America south to Texas and in the mountains of Georgia and Alabama.

While this particular color of Columbine is very common, there is a form that is yellow and white that is quite rare. Someday I hope to fine it.
