The Spring Azure is an early spring butterfly that is found in nearly all of North America south of the Canadian Tundra and north of the Gulf of Mexico, it can also be found in the mountains south into Columbia. The Spring form of the Butterfly is darker than the summer form. They will normally be found in deciduous woods and nearby openings.
The Caterpillars vary from yellow-green to pink with a dark dorsal stripe. They live on Flowering parts of dogwoods, Wild Cherry, New Jersey Tea, viburnums, and other woody plants.
