Most of us remember ants and the bane of the picnic basket. No picnic it seemed was ever complete without an invation of ants.
There are over 2,500 species of ants. All of them live together in an extremely complex social structure that has baffled and amazed naturalists for years. Carpenter Ants form the largest group of ants. They build nests and burrows in dead trees, logs and the wood of our homes. If left alone, they can eventually destroy the structure of the home.
Carpenter ants are found the world over in temperate climates. They are among the largest known ants.
