The Titmouse is a member of the Paridae family. It is crested and much smaller than other crested birds such as the Cardinal and the Blue Jay. The Tufted Titmouse is grey with a cream colored breast and rust coloring on the sides. The bird is about 5 1/2" long and the males and females are similar in size and color.

The Tufted Titmouse is usually found in flocks of three-eight and they reside east of Texas. They can usually be found along with chickadees, warblers and kinglets except during nesting season.

These birds do not migrate, but are found year round in the area east of the Mississippi River.
