American Eastern Gray Squirrel

American Eastern Gray Squirrel
Sciurus Carolinensis

This squirrel is native to the forests of the eastern half of the United States. He lives in trees, building a nest in tree hollows.

We find these squirrels everywhere from the parks to the trees in my front yard. They can be a problem at the bird feeders, and when this occurs, there are several things you can do. Giving them their own feeder, and making it extremely difficult for them to get to the bird feeder are two helpful solutions.

There may have as many as two litters per year, with 2-4 young in each litter.
